Sakebi is an artistic practice of wholeheartedly releasing one's own existence through the body and voice.
I release tension, regulate my breathing, and descend into the silence deep within myself.
Then, relinquishing even the deliberate control of my voice, I simply shout.
That shout may emerge as a thunderous roar, a faint breath, or even a silent shout.
The sea, mountains, cities, sites of war. Any place can become a site of practice.
I do not reject the pressures exerted by a place or the emotions arising within my body.
I release all that I am in that moment, holding nothing back.
For me, voice is not exclusive to human beings. I believe that every form of existence has its own distinct Voice, and that beneath each lies a primordial resonance that precedes classification and cultural interpretation. I call this " The Pure Voice."
Through Sakebi, I continue to explore the possibility of this fundamental resonance revealing itself.
